Thanksgiving: A Holiday for the man, made by a woman.


Thanksgiving. Hands down, my favorite holiday of the year.


But this is only true, because I’m a man.

My wife would disagree. That is, she would disagree that Thanksgiving is the best, not that I’m a man…I think.

Truth is, Thanksgiving is a completely different holiday to the man than it is to the woman.

The Story of How I Caused Oklahoma to Lose to Texas



My bizarro weekend, i.e., the reason OU lost to Texas.

It started off when Bethany Public Schools made the decision to not have Fall Break land on OU/Texas weekend. This meant we couldn’t leave early, we had to wait for the kids to get out of school.

Then, I made a critical wardrobe mistake. The last two years, I wore an OU Tshirt to dinner on Friday night in Dallas, and an OU Polo to the game.

This year, I’ve got a new dri-fit Tshirt that I wanted to wear during the game, because it was going to be hot and it would be more comfortable. So, I did the polo on Friday, Tshirt on Saturday. Continue reading

Dear Sports Parents, Chill Out.



I actually spent an hour online last week searching for AAU basketball teams my son could possibly try out for so he doesn’t get left behind and miss out on playing college basketball.

He’s nine.

Nine years old, and the way things are structured nowadays, I’m concerned he’s falling behind by not playing year round basketball at a high level.

How did this happen? How did I get so caught up on planning out my son’s future for him?

It’s the culture in which we live. We created it, and now we’re victims of it.
